Rhythms Return: Fall Music

| August 28th, 2025

How often, making music, we have found
a new dimension in the world of sound,
as worship moved us to a more profound
alleluia!
-excerpt from When in Our Music God Is Glorified

Some of you, like me, may be baffled by the speed at which we seem to move through the seasons these days- it feels like we just crested the new year, so I’m confused how we are entering the fall months already, and going back to school, finishing summer vacations and closing all of the pools! I must admit that I am always sad to see the summer months go, but I am equally happy to return to our ‘normal’ rhythms at the church.

For us in the music ministry, this return to a normal schedule brings with it our midweek, Wednesday night rehearsals with the Sanctuary Choir, Chancel Ringers, and our newest group, the SPIRE Ringers! Later in the fall, we’ll start rehearsing for our Advent musical while David rehearses with the community chorus for the long-running, beloved performance of Handel’s Messiah! I truly love this time of year and am always so grateful for this musical punctuation in the middle of the week.

Wednesday night rehearsals provide space for meaningful connection and fellowship, while the music making itself seems to transport us all into a new dimension- a place of worship, a more profound alleluia.

If you or your kids are interested in making music with any of our ensembles, please feel free to email David Williamson or myself with any questions you may have- we would love to talk with you.

Blessings to you all as we enter this new season of life together!
