God of wind and fire,
God of every language and every people,
On this Pentecost Sunday, we remember how your Spirit moved. You did not speak through only the powerful, the wealthy, or the well-connected. You poured out your Spirit on ordinary folk—young and old, women and men, dreamers and prophets alike.
God today we ask that you pour out your Spirit again.
Where there is silence in the face of injustice, give us voices that speak.
Where there is fear of difference, give us hearts that listen.
Where there is division fueled by race, by class, by nationality or ideology, breathe your reconciling Spirit upon us.
Spirit of God,
Fall fresh upon communities crushed by poverty.
Strengthen workers denied their dignity and fair wages.
Protect immigrants, refugees, and all who live under the shadow of fear.
Comfort those who have been wounded by rejection and exclusion.
Sustain our communities carrying the weight of systemic injustice.
And Guide our leaders toward mercy, truth, and accountability rather than power for its own sake.
God may your Church not merely celebrate Pentecost as a memory,
but live Pentecost as a calling.
Make us people who build tables instead of walls.
People who practice generosity instead of greed.
People who believe another world is possible because your Spirit is still moving among us.
Set our hearts on fire with holy imagination.
Disturb our comfort when that comfort comes at the expense of our neighbors.
Give us the courage to proclaim good news not only with our words, but with our lives.
And as the first disciples were sent into the world to love boldly and live differently,
send us now—
into our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our sanctuaries, and our streets—
to embody your justice, your compassion, and your peace.
We pray all of this in the name of the Risen Christ,
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
And as one people we speak together the prayer you have taught us saying,
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.
