Gracious and loving God, we come before you this morning grateful to be here. Grateful for this place and for the people who have gathered in it. Grateful for the faces around us, familiar and new,  for the songs we sing together, for the stories we carry, and for the reminder that none of us is meant to make our way through this life alone.

And yet, God, we know that we do not all come into this room carrying the same things.

Some come with hearts that are light today—with good news to celebrate, with laughter still lingering from the week, with a sense that life is unfolding as we had hoped. And some come carrying things that no one else can see. Some are worried about someone they love. Some are grieving a loss that still feels fresh. Some are waiting for an answer. Some are facing a decision they do not know how to make. Some are tired—in body, in spirit, tired of trying to hold everything together. Some are simply wondering what comes next.

God, meet each of us where we are.

Where there is joy, help us receive it fully and not rush past it. Where there is grief, sit beside us in the silence. Where there is uncertainty, give us patience for the questions that do not yet have answers. Where there is fear, remind us that we are not alone. Where there is weariness, give us rest. Where there is loneliness, make your presence known through the people who surround us. And where there is hope, however small, help us protect it and nurture it until it can grow.

God, we pray for the people we love.

For families navigating change. For friendships that need mending. For parents who worry about their children and children who worry about their parents. For those beginning new chapters and those grieving chapters that have come to an end. For those who are caring for someone else and those who need to be cared for themselves. For all the ordinary joys and struggles that make up a human life.

Give us the grace to be gentle with one another, remembering that we rarely know the whole story someone is carrying.

Help us listen a little more carefully. Help us assume a little less. Help us make room for one another’s complexity. And help us become the kind of people who notice when someone needs a hand, a meal, a phone call, a place at the table, or simply someone willing to sit and stay.

God of all creation, we pray for our world.

We pray for places where violence has become ordinary and where people wake each morning unsure whether they will be safe. We pray for those displaced from their homes, for those living with hunger and poverty, for those whose dignity is threatened because of who they are or where they come from. We pray for leaders who carry tremendous responsibility. Give them wisdom, humility, courage, and a genuine concern for the flourishing of all people.

And when the needs of the world feel too large for us, keep us from believing that there is nothing we can do. Remind us that faith is practiced in small things as well as great ones. In the kindness we offer. In the truth we tell. In the welcome we extend. In the courage to repair what has been broken. In the ways we use whatever gifts we have been given for the good of our neighbors.

God, we pray for this community of faith.

Continue to shape us into the people you are calling us to become. Keep us curious about where your Spirit is moving. Keep us open to the possibility that you are at work in places we have not yet noticed. Give us the wisdom to know when we need to speak and when we need to listen, when we need to act and when we need to wait. And give us the humility to remember that practicing our faith is not about getting everything right.

It is about returning, again and again, to the ways of love. Again and again, to mercy. Again and again, to justice. Again and again, to the life you have placed before us.

So, God of life, hold us in all that this day brings.

Go with those who leave this place carrying difficult things. Celebrate with those who leave carrying joy. Strengthen those who are weary. Comfort those who are hurting. Challenge those who have become comfortable. And remind all of us that wherever we go, you are already there.

May we live this week with open hearts and attentive spirits. May we notice your presence in the ordinary moments. May we recognize opportunities to offer grace. And may the lives we live, the choices we make, and the love we share become our prayer.

We offer all of this to you, trusting in your goodness and resting in your love. And now, as one community and one people, we pray together the prayer Jesus taught us:

Our Creator, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Amen.
