Potlucks

| November 21st, 2024

A Thanksgiving potluck?  Yes, please!  We are, after all, a baptist church with a chance to make some delicious dishes and lean into warm conversation – our speciality!  We will gather this Sunday, November 24th at 5:30 in Kelly Auditorium where we will eat whatever you bring and give thanks for so much.  We invite you to bring a dish that reflects your tradition, culture, or a family favorite to share with others. Whether it’s a savory casserole, a sweet dessert, a creative vegan option, or whatever quick grab and go is on sale at the grocery store on your way to the church house, just know that every contribution adds to the feast.

A potluck is always a good reminder that everyone has a seat at the table. Just as Jesus welcomed all, we invite you to bring folks with you.  Every month in worship, we take part in communion where we are reminded that the table is God’s table, not ours, and all are welcome.  That extends beyond the sanctuary to all areas of our life, even for a potluck!  A potluck is more than just a shared meal.  It is a reminder of our unity, our diversity, and the joy of bringing our unique and authentic selves to the table.  It is a reminder of the beautiful mosaic of community that we see when we are all together.  It is a glimpse into the Kingdom of God.

Let us come together in the spirit of love and gratitude, reflecting the boundless table of God’s kingdom where all are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!   And don’t forget to sign up to let us know you are coming!
