Amy McClure

Rev. Amy McClure has served as one of the Associate Pastors at First Baptist Church on Fifth since March 2015. One of Amy’s favorite passages of scripture is Isaiah 43, which reminds us of God’s redeeming power in our lives and that God calls us by name. In her role as an Associate Pastor, Amy provides leadership in the areas of Pastoral Care, Senior Adult Ministry, and Children’s Ministry. One of Amy’s passions is intergenerational ministry, where people of all ages partner together to be the Church and share the Gospel.

Amy has been in ministry for almost 20 years, serving in a variety of roles including Minister of Older Adults at First Baptist Church of Clayton, NC; Associate Pastor for Christian Education and Spiritual Formation at Memorial Baptist Church in Buies Creek, NC; Youth Minister at Hazelwood Baptist Church, Waynesville, NC; and serving overseas in Liberia, West Africa working with local churches to help rebuild their communities following their 14-year civil war.

Amy is currently serving on the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Children’s Ministry Network leadership team and has previously served as the board chair for Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina, on the board for Baptist Women in Ministry, the Board of Advisors for Campbell University Divinity School, and numerous committees and teams for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina.

Amy holds a Master of Divinity with distinction from Campbell University Divinity School and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Campbell University Divinity School.

In her free time, she enjoys trying out any new coffee shop (especially when they have good cinnamon rolls!), traveling to see new places and meeting new friends, visiting the beach for relaxation, and spending time with her awesome family.   Amy and her wife, Karen, were married here at First on Fifth in 2022 and live in Clemmons with their three fur babies, Maggie, Bo, and Finn.
