Happy (almost) Fall, friends! This is my (Mary) favorite season. Maybe even more so now that our little one is set to arrive October 1! As I reflect on why I love fall so much, a big part of the reason is that fall feels like a reset. As the trees are losing their leaves and preparing for the cycle that will bring about new life, I also find myself wanting to let go of things that might not be serving me well and look toward the new that is coming. What opportunities await as we move through these cooler days?
If you find yourself longing for a kind of reset or looking for new opportunities, you’re in luck! On Sunday, September 29 our New Member Ministry Team is hosting First on Fifth 101. This class is designed to help newer members take a deep dive into life at First but can also be a great experience for longer term members as there might be new opportunities you aren’t aware of. We will gather in Kelly Auditorium, from 4-7pm, for an evening that will provide you essential information about the life of our church, with specific attention given to helping members of our community know how to become more deeply involved in committees, ministry teams, small groups and Sunday School classes, and the church’s various ministries. Additional information about finance, budget, and giving will be shared as a means of further orientation to our community. We will also have 15 mission partners represented for you to learn more about their work and how to get involved.
All are welcome to attend! As we share dinner together you will have a chance to get to know those around your table and ask any question you may have about First on Fifth. Really, any question; the staff and church leaders are ready for them! RSVP by September 23 by clicking here or contact me (mary@firstonfifth.org).
