January 12 In-Person Worship Cancelled

January 12

11:00 am - 12:00 pm

In a change from our previously-communicated plans, we will not gather for in-person worship tomorrow, January 12, at First Baptist Church on Fifth. While some roads around town have begun to clear from Friday’s snowfall, the overnight hard freeze will create icy, hazardous conditions on many side roads and neighborhoods, as well as around our church house. Your pastors and lay leaders want to ensure everyone’s safety, so please stay home and safe — and join us by Zoom!

While we will miss being together in person tomorrow, we will gather for an abbreviated Zoom worship at 11:00am. Pour yourself a warm cup of tea, and gather with your beloved community for worship from home. We’ll hear the story of Jesus’s baptism as we remember our own. The Zoom link has been sent to members; if any guests would like to join in, email Pastor Emily (emily@firstonfifth.org) for the link.

As previously stated, all other in-person activities tomorrow (Sunday School, Coffee and Conversation, and the Leadership Lunch and Orientation) are canceled. Should leaders have any questions for staff about materials sent for the Leadership Orientation, there will be an open Zoom for questions at 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon.
