The Adult Ministry Team invites small groups and classes to spend the approaching Lenten season reading, praying, and reflecting together on Walter Brueggemann’s, A Way Other than Our Own: Devotions for Lent. His short reflections remind us of how God calls us in Lent to walk an alternative path of grace, humility, justice, and peace. Books may be purchased online at Amazon or through the church for $10. If you would like to acquire the books through First on Fifth, bring cash or a check written to First Baptist Church and the number of books you need to Mary Foskett or Linda Jones.
For those who will be reading the book apart from a small group, the Adult Ministry team will lead shared reflection on Brueggemann’s devotions on Wednesdays in Lent (Feb. 21 – March 27, with the exception of Feb. 28) from 12:00-12:45 p.m in the Commons.
