Special Screening: Midwives of the Movement
April 14
9:00 am - 10:30 am
On Sunday, April 14, at 9:00am in Kelly Auditorium, all are invited to a documentary film screening of Midwives of a Movement, created by Baptist Women in Ministry (BWIM). The feature documentary film chronicles the stories of the women who boldly birthed a movement to seek greater visibility and opportunities for women in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Despite great opposition, their courage blazed pathways for advancing women in ministry and leadership among Baptists. In this film, audiences today will find heartfelt stories, painful anecdotes, profound insights, and lighthearted remembrances which will inspire continued confrontation of patriarchy and advocacy efforts so that women find equality and equity among Baptists. The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina and BWIM are partnering together to present screenings of the film in churches across the state, and we are a delighted host! That morning, we also will have the opportunity to hear Rev. Dr. Meredith Stone, executive director of BWIM, as our guest proclaimer in worship. See the newsletter and website for more information. All are welcome!
