Living God,
We are here this morning because we believe that you offer us life…
Life that lasts…
life that moves…
life that sustains…
Too often we settle for crumbs, when you provide a meal
we binge on spiritual fast food and wonder why we still hunger…
Feed us… that we might truly live…
abundantly
fill us… that our lives may overflow with goodness and kindness
for others…
Others who hunger physically and spiritually
Give us the faith to trust that there is plenty of the Bread of Life to share.
Living God,
we are also here this morning because we believe you offer us a home…
A place to love and be loved…
a place to grow…
a place to be
Too often we search for that perfect house, when you offer a perfect home
We search and search, hunting for houses and wonder why we never feel at home
Abide in us that we may find home in you
Dwell in us that we may find sanctuary in you
For as we have find a home in you, O God,
We see that there is plenty of room in this home for others…
In our hearts…
in this church…
in this world…
We pray this in the name of Jesus the Christ, the Holy One of God… who taught us to pray, saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not in to temptation, but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory.
