A graduate of Appalachian State University, Jake Hill holds Baccalaureate degrees in both organ performance and sacred music, and Master of Music degrees in organ performance and choral conducting. Since 2014, Jake has served as the Principal Organist, here at First on Fifth, and has since assumed additional duties as Music Associate, coordinating age-graded music programming for our children and fulfilling other needs related to our adult music ministry choirs.
As a church musician, Jake continues to appear as a guest organist, performing in solo and collaborative capacities with several academic and sacred music programs throughout the state, including choral and musical productions as well as other various ceremonies and services throughout the year.
In addition to his role at First on Fifth, Jake continues to hold principal responsibilities with Cornel Zimmer Organ Builders, where his focus is in proposal and tonal design.
