Connecting Beyond the Walls
WELCOME TO THE DAILY DOSE!
Today’s word of hope comes from our own Nikki Byers, Interim Minister of Missions
There is so much happening in our community to help mitigate the COVID-19 crisis with the vulnerable among us.
The Missions Committee met last week and decided to support several of those efforts. We agreed to contribute to those projects that align with our missional priorities of cultivating the well-being of children and mitigating poverty.
The following are the projects we elected to support:
- Second Harvest Food Bank: To help feed the children of Forsyth County, particularly those coming to Title One Schools for breakfast and lunch.
- City with Dwellings: To support their work with the homeless, supporting the outreach workers who will go to the encampment areas to teach health safety.
- Imprints Cares: To defray the cost of childcare for the children of first responders in our community. They are offering this childcare from 6:30am-7:30pm
Please let me know of efforts going on in our community as there are many good works to inspire us in this time of “sheltering in place”.
I want to close with this blessing that came from Patricia Greene. It was a blessing that her Hebrews professor, Carson Brisson, pronounced at the end of each class……
May joy and nothing less find you on your way
May you be blessed and may you be a blessing
And may light guide you and countless others
All the way home
