Our Homebound Team co-chairs gathering to pore and pray over a list of those beloveds who are home-centered in their daily rhythms, followed immediately by a room full of women who have carefully and creatively crafted notes of encouragement to send out among our members.

A text I received Sunday afternoon that, among other things, said worship ‘moved [me] to action — I’ve already responded in one area and will follow through with the second as well.’

A fan club of parents, kids, and friends who celebrated with Norah at her summer musical.

One of you navigating honestly the tension around being a downtown church that welcomes all while working to ensure safety for all.

Hearing from Lib in my visit to her about how many of our church members have called, written, visited, and encouraged her in recent days.

Kim and Cindi who relieved a pair of busy parents with an afternoon of 1st-grader fun.

Another of you who shared a stubborn joy in our beloved community — despite all our failures and flaws — as a school of love whose members are among your best teachers and guides.

Volunteers stuffing envelopes with Deacon nomination letters and running copies of the worship folder. Members encouraging staff with emails and texts, calls and visits.

Youth planning their group’s shared costume for the Passport Camp dance next week, and Hannah illuminating the camp theme artistically for our shared reflection.

The Outreach Team, gathering to strategize, plan events, imagine possibilities, and boldly create.

A crew of our folks, braving the heat at Wonderful Wednesdays to address the educational ‘summer slide’ for kids of lower-income families.

Ideas about this upcoming school year in church life flinging far and wide, hopes for our church scattered as boldly and boundless as the seeds flung by the ‘sower who went out to sow.’

This is bold love and boundless compassion.
This is God’s work of Love in our midst.
This is church at its best.

In this week when I mark four years as your pastor, I give thanks for the myriad of ways – these all just in a handful of days! – you bear witness to Love with your very lives. My abundant gratitude and love for you deepens every day!

Together in the work of Love,
Pastor Emily
