As is our custom, we will gather to do the regular business of the church in the month of July for our Quarterly Church Conference. But unlike our usual customs, we’ll be doing so virtually as we practice healthy distance during this time of pandemic!

Our Coronavirus Task Force has worked closely together to determine a plan for how we can conduct our church business while ensuring the broadest capacity for conversation and voting and widest accessibility for church members. We will gather Wednesday night, July 22, at 7:00pm via Zoom for our Quarterly Church Conference; please read on for the details of how the July 22 meeting will unfold, and make your plans now to attend!

One week before the meeting, the church will receive via email all the written materials for the conference that are usually distributed as a handout in the meeting, clearly outlining what items will require a vote. This includes the following: an agenda, minutes from the January QCC, a membership report, a financial report, and any committee or task force reports that will be pertinent to the meeting.

After you receive this information, you may bring forward whatever questions or comments you have in the following ways:

  • Any questions or comments can be sent by email to the Coronavirus Task Force (coronavirus@firstonfifth.org) and will be distributed to pertinent staff and lay leaders.

  • On Sunday, July 19, at 5:00pm, several Deacon officers, church officers, and Pastor Emily, as well as chairs of any committee who will be bringing forth a report, will be available via Zoom to answer whatever questions you may have in advance of the meeting. This time will be accessible by video or phone via Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided to members upon request. Please email Amy Cook at acook@firstonfifth.org for Zoom information.

On Wednesday, July 22, at 7:00pm, members can sign onto Zoom by computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone, or by calling into the number below. During the meeting, we will hear a summary of the pre-meeting questions and feedback. Members can share their questions during the meeting by raising their hands or posting them in the chat box. This time will be accessible by video or phone via Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided to members upon request. Please email Amy Cook at acook@firstonfifth.org for Zoom information.

A written summary from the meeting will be included in the Tuesday eBlast on July 28 following the Quarterly Church Conference.

We are grateful for your flexibility and ongoing love of our church that persists through all the changing seasons of our life together! We look forward to sharing this time together with you.

Jim Tew, Church Moderator
Emily Hull McGee, Pastor
