April 15, 16, 17 – 12:15-12:45 pm | Midday contemplative prayer services | Sanctuary
April 18 – 7:00 pm | Maundy Thursday Communion Service| Kelly Auditorium
From the Latin “mandatum novum”, Maundy Thursday gives space for us to practice the “new commandment” given by Jesus to his disciples. His commandment to love one another is the central focus of this service through the tangible symbols of communion, hand-washing, and scripture.
April 19 – 7:00 pm | Good Friday Tenebrae Service | Sanctuary
The Sanctuary Choir, guest musicians, and scripture readers will lead a dramatic service of scripture and song describing Christ’s betrayal, trial, crucifixion, and death. The Latin word tenebrae means “darkness” or “shadows”. Originating in the twelfth century, the Tenebrae service centers our hearts on the fading life of Jesus as candles are extinguished throughout the service drawing us all to the cross of love.
Thirty minutes prior to the service, worshipers are invited to walk the Stations of the Cross which are displayed in the windows surrounding the sanctuary. Pre-service music will be provided by a string quartet featuring Monika Wilmot (violin), Angie Allen (violin), Matthew Troy (viola), and Alexandra Johnston (cello).

If your dish requires a serving utensil, please make sure to bring that so we will be able to serve your item. We will not have Sunday school that morning, but will gather for table fellowship instead. We can’t wait to celebrate and eat with you for Easter!
