The Mission Committee is recruiting a Good Neighbor Team at First Baptist in response to an urgent request from World Relief to support families arriving in the Triad from Congo, Burma and Iran.  We at First on Fifth take seriously our charge to welcome the stranger, as the true meaning of hospitality. Hebrews 13:2 says “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it”.    A Good Neighbor Team is “a small group of people (15-20) from a local church that partners with World Relief to welcome and walk alongside a newly arrived refugee family.”  This is a six-month commitment with weekly visits to the refugee family.  Weekly time commitments for each team member will vary depending on number of team members and relationships that develop with the families.  Click HERE for more detailed information about being a Good Neighbor Team member.  World Relief will equip the team with training and tools necessary to provide this support to refugee families.  If you are interested in serving as a member of the Good Neighbor Team at First on Fifth, contact Nikki Byers at no later than Friday, August 2! Thank you!
