Around the roof and roofline, the copper roofing on the dome will be completed this week! Cornice painting around the roofline will finish this week as well. You may have noticed a number of lifts around the property over the past few weeks! This restoration crew has been working to remove unnecessary paint and clean the building, particularly focusing their attention on the top of the building.

On the tower, preparation work continues to ready the tower to receive the 47 pieces of terra cotta when it arrives in mid-September.

Inside the building, work is finishing up in the old bridal suite area to create a new room and reopen the bathrooms down the nursery hallway..

On the back side of the building, demolition of the asbestos brick started this week in the locations where the breezeways to Buildings B & C once attached. At the completion of this work, brick repairs should be able to start next week.

Looking ahead, the church staff and House & Grounds Committee is working hard to prepare for the electrical shutdown to shift from the old transformer to the new one. This will occur from September 23-27, and the staff will be working off-site that week.

Thanks for your patience and flexibility in this season of transition!
