This week around the church house…
- Thanks to the thorough responsiveness from our contractors, scaffolding is being erected this week in the Sanctuary in order to examine closely the decorative plaster on the ceiling to gain clarity about why a piece fell last week. It will take three days to construct the scaffolding which will encircle the entire center part of the dome, after which we anticipate that a plaster expert can ascend the scaffolding to discover how we might address this concern and take steps to ensure that the ceiling is safe and secure. For the coming weeks, we will continue to worship in Kelly Auditorium while this work unfolds in the Sanctuary!
- On the roof, the installation of copper panels begins this week and is likely to take 4-6 weeks to be fully completed. The tower repointing is nearing completion, which is a big component of its restoration!
- Work on the underground infrastructure in the back of the lot continues this week with focus on the electrical work needed for the transformer replacement.
Thanks for your patience and flexibility in this season of transition!
