This week around the church house…
Jackhammering on the retaining wall between Buildings B & C and Building A continued this week! As the back part of our property is reshaped, part of this retaining wall will remain: from five feet below the ground and down. What has been removed is everything from five feet below and up. You can see in the photo to the left that they have made significant progress on this work!
This week saw the installation of the underground sewer taps for the narthex restrooms and the boiler room. This has required another round of road closures on Spruce and Poplar, but is a necessary step in their construction.
As you come in and out of the building, you may have noticed the large glass doors in the breezeway! When demolition in the back part of our lot is completed, these three new doors will be installed in the three ground floor entryways (two breezeway doors, one Spruce Street side door between the Baraca Room and Kelly Auditorium), allowing for greater ease of entry and more natural light to filter into our space.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility in this season of transition!
