This week around the church house…

  • This week has seen the completion of some ongoing pieces of our work, ticking through the final checklist for the project! Duke Energy came on Tuesday to remove the old electrical transformer from the vault underneath the breezeway as you see here. Fill and patchwork will then finish this item on our list.
  • As the Spruce Street retaining wall receives the last of its work this week, we give thanks that construction fencing has come down in the back!
  • Concrete workers have been on site this week, preparing broken sidewalks for restoration and pouring new ones, particularly on the Poplar Street side of the building near Fifth Street. In these final weeks of the project, crews will continue fixing sidewalks, landscaping, and any remaining areas that need to be returned to their original look. Because of the winter season, any significant updating to our landscaping will be held until the spring.
  • As the project nears its conclusion and the holiday season gives space for rest, we draw to a close these weekly Building Updates you’ve read in the eBlast for the last 18 months! From this point on, you’ll see Building Updates shared as needed when work unfolds around the building. Please make your plans to attend the Quarterly Church Conference on January 26 after worship, where final information about the building project and all its related costs will be discussed.

Thank you for your sustained engagement through Phase One of our “A Boundless Home” project! Your patience through and excitement for this season of our church’s life has made it possible. Thank you!
