This week around the church house…
The weather has delayed a bit the exterior completion of the project this week. All the restoration has now fully been completed, and roofers should be done next week.
We anticipate that by the end of this week, the final steps for the Spruce Street retaining wall should be complete, and the last piece of precast will be installed. Concrete for the new bollards along the back side of the building will be poured early next week for their installation.
New awnings in the back of the building are up and installed! This should enable clarity for folks who are entering the building about where they should go. We also have enjoyed a newly-clean back of the building! Cleaning to prepare for brick-staining has gone very well! Removal of rust from the band around the building and a newly-cleaned chimney were added benefits to this stage of the process.
Duke Energy will be on-site on December 17 to remove the old transformer from the breezeway. Patchwork will take place shortly thereafter to cover this spot.
As weather permits, we look forward to the completion of construction here in the next week! Upon the conclusion of roofing and restoration, the fencing will come down around the site, as well as the removal of equipment and the construction dumpster in the back. At that point, the folks from Blum will begin their work of cleaning up sidewalks, landscaping, and any remaining areas that need to be fixed back to their original look.
Thanks for your patience in this season of transition!
